His research and academic interests are in the areas of systematic reviews, school and family monitoring interventions to prevent children smoking, active learning, learning disabilities among children, effectiveness of the influenza vaccine, health promotion and routine screening for stomach cancer, home interventions for the elderly, telehealth, and palliative care. This research builds upon his experiences in providing health care in rural and remote areas of Canada, the UK, and Africa.
