Peter Kitchen

Post-Doctoral Fellow in the School of Earth, Environment & Society at McMaster University.

His research focuses on urban social geography, quality of life, and environment and health issues. He is also interested in the connection between geography and public policy at the community level. Prior to arriving at McMaster University, he worked as a Research Associate in the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Ottawa where he managed data collection on a project related to models of primary health care in Ontario.

He has received a Humanitarian Service Commendation from the Canadian Red Cross Society for volunteer service during disaster relief operations in the United States. He is Co-Director of Bempong Foundation, a non-profit charitable organization that invests in partnerships that help children and youth overcome barriers to education in countries affected by war and epidemics.
